History
Gantt charts have become the most popular project management tool used today.
Although originally invented in Poland by Karol Adamieki in the 1890’s they became more popular around 15 years later. This was when American engineer Henry Gantt began using them in his management techniques. The name Gantt then became associated with this kind of chart, and it carries the name still today.
Obviously the original charts were all compiled and updated by hand. However now we have fantastic resources which are computerized and which give instant updates to all concerned.
Modern Use
The modern use of a Gantt Chart is such that it is a most invaluable tool to people in project management. This can be either for complex business use, or personal project use. A Gantt Chart will be an awesome tool for a 1 task 5 task or a 100 task project. Computing these days means that many people in various areas can be updated instantly on any project on the Gantt Chart.
